Hey, !
Â
Every year, it seems like the holiday creep gets worse.
Â
At the beginning of October, my kids and I went shopping for Halloween crafts. We couldn't find any. A few lonely pumpkins and skeleton cats stared at us from near-empty shelves.
Â
Meanwhile, one aisle over, stockings and poinsettias spilled over onto the floor. "Jingle Bells" played on the sound system.
Â
Weeks before Halloween, this retailer had skipped right over Thanksgiving and was already on to the December festivities.
Â
Holiday creep.
Â
One of my friends even dressed up as SANTA for Halloween and thought it was hilarious!
Â
I thought, "Too soon! Too soon!"
Â
Don't get me wrong; I love Christmas. But it can feel like one giant sprint from now until New Year's.
Â
It can be fun, but it's exhausting. And stressful. AND, let's face it: it's not always the magical, joyous time of year the Hallmark movies promise it'll be. The holidays can bring up... stuff.
Â
Grief...
Â
Guilt...
Â
Overwhelm...
Â
The stress of dealing with difficult family members...
Â
Can you relate? Do you feel any of it creeping up?
Â
I'm working on something really special over here to help you with the extra self-care you need to make it through holidays.
Â
I'll tell you more about it in a few days.
Â
In the meantime, I'd love to hear from you.
Â
What do you struggle with the most over the holidays?
Â
And how do you WANT to feel during that time?
