Hey,
If you're like most people, you've been thinking a lot about the past year - the highs and the lows, the accomplishments and the setbacks.
It's easy to beat yourself up for the things you haven't accomplished, or the things that didn't go as planned.
But I started a ritual a few years ago that changed my life, and I want to share it with you.
It's called the Win List.
Every year, around this time, I make a list of all my professional and personal accomplishments - both big and small. The list is usually MUCH longer than I think it will be!
It's so easy to get caught up in second-guessing yourself. Playing the "if only" game. Making resolutions based on what you dislike about yourself and your life.
It's easy to forget just how awesome you really are!
Making a Win List, seeing all your accomplishments in one place, gives you can be a huge boost to your confidence.
To get started on your own list, think about these areas:
- Goals you met
- Actions you took
- Courses or products you launched
- Relationships you built
- Progress you made
- Fears you faced (even just once!)
- Wounds you healed (even a little bit)
- Times you were brave
- Times you stood up for yourself
- Ways you practiced self-care
- Things you let go of
- Things you learned about yourself
A colleague recently gave me a great suggestion to make the Win List even more powerful: write down your wins AS THEY HAPPEN. Put the slips of paper in a jar, and re-read them at the end of the year.
That way you don't forget any of them! AND, you get to celebrate them TWICE - once when you write them down, and once when you review them at the end of the year. I love that idea!
The Win List not only boosts your confidence; it also increases your joy. It's about gratitude. Savoring the moment. Not taking life for granted.
