Hey, !
Whew! It's been a while since I've written an email. I've REALLY missed talking with you!
I spent almost the entire month of November being really sick (like, in-bed-for-3-weeks-and-I-spent-12-hours-in-the-ER sick).
Our Thanksgiving meal was a big pot of homemade chicken soup that my mom dropped off. YUMMY, but far from what we'd had in mind... We gave extra thanks this year for family, healing, and modern medicine.
I still have very little stamina, but I've finally turned the corner into healing.
I'd fully planned on launching a new Self-Care for Surviving the Holidays course, starting in mid-November. Little did I know that I'd be spending the time practicing my OWN self-care during the time the course was supposed to take place.
Ahhh, the best-laid plans...
Sometimes your own self-care must take center stage.
It's so easy to take care of everyone else's needs, with your own needs taking a back seat for so long that you're barely in the car anymore...
But you can't sustain that for long. You know it's a recipe for burnout, depression, decreased productivity, and more.
So I invite you to look at areas in your life where you need to take time to heal...
Do you need some physical healing, such as dealing with a chronic health issue you've been ignoring? Do you need to make some doctor appointments or change your eating habits?
Does your spiritual life need some attention? Have you neglected the prayer, meditation, journaling, or other practices that help you feel grounded, connected, and whole?
Do you need to heal a relationship, forgive someone? (Remember, forgiveness is for YOU, NOT them. They don't even have to know about it...)
Do you need to heal some emotional baggage that's been weighing you down for years? (More of my content will be focused on this in the new year.)
Taking the time to heal is a vital part of self-care - one that we often neglect, especially during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
How can you practice better self-care in December?
I'd LOVE to hear from you. So reply to this email and let me know how you're going to focus on self-care for healing this month. I read EVERY email I receive from you...
