Remember the movie, Groundhog Day?
Bill Murray's character gets trapped in a time loop, waking up to the same day over and over again.
Eventually, he starts playing with the situation, turning it to his advantage. Binge eating. Committing robbery. He tries unsuccessfully to woo the woman he's attracted to.
Eventually depressed and desperate, he turns to crazy acts like kidnapping the groundhog and driving them both off a cliff.
Nothing works.
Eventually, he starts to better himself. He improves the lives of those around him.
And in true Hollywood fashion, the curse breaks when he becomes a good enough person to win the girl.
Ignore the Hollywood ending for a second and think about ways that every day is like Groundhog Day in your life.
Do you wake up day after day with the same emotional baggage? The same imposter syndrome? The same nagging self-doubt?
You try desperately to let it go, to move on, to fake it till you make it or simply pretend it's not there.
But no matter what you try, you simply can't shake it. Your emotional baggage pops up when you least expect it, sabotaging your business and personal life. Maybe it's big. Maybe it's subtle. But it's totally there. All. The.
Time.
The good news is that you don't HAVE to live in a perpetual Groundhog Day. And you don't have to resort to desperate stunts like kidnapping the groundhog to escape it.
I've lived every bit of that imposter syndrome trap. The feelings of worthlessness. The attempts to earn my worth through success, accolades, and over-achievement. The desperate fear that eventually I'd be found out as a fraud and exposed
for the loser I really was.
It all stemmed from unresolved emotional baggage.
All the affirmations in the world didn't help - because I didn't BELIEVE them.
It took decades of intentional work and trial and error, but eventually I figured out the secrets to loving myself, accepting myself, and being myself. I figured out what works and what doesn't work - and what must be done IN THE RIGHT ORDER
to make it work (I'm looking at YOU, affirmations!)
And I distilled it all down into the techniques and strategies I teach in the Confidence and Authenticity Private
Mentorship.
