Ugh. The ugliness of internet trolls never ceases to amaze me.
I was watching a masterclass yesterday hosted by one of the most influential business coaches in the industry. This woman knows her STUFF, and she brought the receipts to prove it.
But instead of focusing on the content
and actually learning something, some creep on a social media live stream kept making despicable comments about her weight.
She read one of them out loud. He asked, "Have you ever thought about getting a gym membership?" Without breaking stride, this coach replied, "Yes, and then I thought "Hell no, I'm not doing that!'"
Touche.
She went on to make the point that comments like that don't throw
her off her game because she's so secure in who she is.
And THAT, , is the power of knowing yourself. Of ACCEPTING yourself through and through. Of being SO confident in who you are that other people's opinions of you don't affect you.
How well would YOU have handled that? Would you have been rattled? Gotten off the call and crawled into bed with a pint of
ice cream and a Netflix binge?
Other people's opinions of you are none of your business. And while it's easy to not seek them out, it's harder to ignore them when they're shoved in your face like that.
But that's the secret to inner peace - being confident in yourself, NOT in an arrogant "I'm perfect" kind of way but in an "I know who I am and my worth isn't dependent on your opinion of me" kind of way.
We're all afraid of
criticism on some level. But if you let it STOP you, you'll never fulfill your purpose. And it's too important to give up because some internet troll wants to make you as miserable as he is.
If you're ready to develop that level of no-holds-barred confidence so you have inner peace and go after your dreams, click here to get on my calendar and see if the Confidence & Authenticity Private Mentorship is for you.
