I didn't really like the default background, so I searched their options to customize my boards. I found this image of a black cat peeking at me. And of course, it's purple!
It's such a silly little thing, but it makes my heart flutter with joy.
Most anything purple does that for me. So I surround myself with that color every chance I get - purple pens, a purple phone case, purple towels... And you've seen my hair...
What things light you up and make you heart flutter with joy? Is it a certain song? A color? A scent? A luscious piece of chocolate? A divine cup of coffee in the morning?
What can you do to bring MORE of that into your life, as often as possible?
Maybe you think these things are so trivial that they don't really matter. And you're right - to
an extent. No, they won't cure cancer or bring about world peace. But they'll bring YOU a sliver of inner peace and joy. And THAT, in and of itself, makes them important.
But they ALSO help you be
more confident. How? It's simple...
When you honor your preferences in the silly little things that "don't matter," you're better able to stand up for yourself in the big things that matter to
you:
- setting boundaries with friends and clients,
- letting go of toxic relationships,
- taking a stand for your business message and
mission,
- saying no to clients who aren't a great fit,
- pivoting your business practices and service delivery when you realize it's just not working anymore;
- having the courage to be more visible in your biz (FB lives, speaking on stages, even sending emails)
- and more.
And THOSE wins make you more
confident.
But it all starts with a silly little thing like a pen or a picture. Or a color.
Try it this week. Honor your preferences in the silly little things. As often as possible. And see what a difference it makes in your confidence, and in knowing that you matter.
Then shoot me a quick email and let me know how it goes so we can celebrate together!
