It was my son's 10th birthday.
Three of his friends came over to swim and have cake and pizza.
Simplest. Party. Ever.
Ten years ago, I couldn't IMAGINE having a party that simple.
See, I used to be a mom blogger, and one thing I blogged about was super creative, elaborate birthday parties - like the over-the-top Pinterest parties, but DIY and on a budget.
I'd spend months planning, weeks preparing, and 2 full days on the cake itself.
I
loved the whole party-planning aspect of it, and I love the compliments I received.
Then, my son was born and I got serious about my coaching business.
Whammo! No time for elaborate parties.
But I realized something even more important: I'm not a mom blogger at heart. I was imitating what I saw to be successful rather than innovating as my own authentic self.
I had to let go of that part of me.
It wasn't failing; it was evolving.
It was time for Holly 2.0.
(Or, really, 5.0 by that point. But you get the picture...)
I had to reconnect with my core values and re-evaluate that part of my life.
Let go of some outdated beliefs about myself.
When have you needed to upgrade your beliefs, roles, goals, or perceptions of yourself?
Are you ready for another upgrade?
