Last week, I discovered The Other Serenity Prayer, and I wanted to share it with you.
How often do you beat yourself up for not being "better" already?
How many failures and disappointments do you hold against yourself, unable (or not knowing how) to forgive yourself?
How often do you doubt that you're "good enough"?
You've gotta do the work, put in the effort to love and trust yourself again.
And sometimes, you've just gotta ask for help and admit "I can't do this on my own."
That's why this prayer is so beautiful...
God, grant me the serenity
to stop beating myself up
for not doing things perfectly,
the courage to forgive myself
because I'm working on doing better,
and the wisdom to know that
you already love me just the way I am.
