Hey, beautiful!
Back in June, I
had the immense honor of being a guest on Zondra Evans' TV show, Real Biz Talk with Zondra. We talked about how women can move beyond the limiting beliefs that are imposed on them, whether from outside sources or internally.
We dove into what it looks like when you've lost yourself, and what it takes to rediscover yourself again.
Here are a few of the signs I mentioned on the show:
- You look at your life and wonder, "How did I get here?"
- "I never envisioned it being this way. I thought I was someone
else.
- You have trouble making your own decisions and look to others for validation.
- You can't say where YOU want to go eat, because it's been so long since you went anywhere other than your kids' favorite fast food restaurant.
- You allow someone (family member, business mentor, etc) to change what you would do, where it doesn't sit well with you, be you do it anyway.
- You're always searching for that "next big thing," but it doesn't fulfill you.
If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone. This Spiritual Identity Theft, as I call it, affect SO many women, from all walks of life.
Whether you're a stay-at-home mom who's always doing everything for her kids and neglecting her own needs...
a woman who's trying to be the "perfect daughter" your parents always wanted...
or an entrepreneur who's using a business model the gurus said is the best/only way to do it
(though in your heart you'd rather do it some other way...)
If any of that sounds familiar, it's time to re-evaluate. It's time to stop letting others define you and rediscover who you are.
In my course, Rediscover You, one of the first steps is to take a personal inventory. What do you love/hate? What brings you joy/makes you anxious? What
are some of your favorites?
It sounds simple, but if you've spent years denying these parts of you for the sake of other people, it's an eye-opening about powerful exercise. (We start off kinda easy and "safe," and get deeper as we go.)
