When my daughter was five, she wanted to be a disco ball for Halloween. So my husband and I dressed up in our fanciest outfits and we all went trick-or-treating as Dancing With the Stars. Isn't she the cutest disco ball ever?
Fast forward a few years. We're actually ballroom dancers now, and glittering disco balls light up
the dance floor every time we compete.
A few weeks ago, the world's most famous disco ball fell in Times Square. And my inbox is STILL filled with coaches exclaiming, "It's your time to shine!"
Here's the problem, my friend. A disco ball only reflects an outside light source. It has no light of its own. It's shine is superficial. Temporary. Conditional.
And when the lights go off, the disco ball goes dark.
You, , are not a disco ball.
You do not need an outside source to light you up. You don't need outward validation to be worthy. To make an impact. To "shine."
You were not meant to shine.
You were meant to RADIATE. To radiate confidence from within. To light the way for others with the beautiful, God-given light that's inside you.
As 2025 unfolds, how can you radiate your confidence, your brilliance, your purpose?
Bring it forth from within you.
Rediscover it if you must. Then let it light the way for others.
