I have to admit. I really, really struggled writing the article about Kate Spade this week.
I didn't want to minimize her death in any way, but to honor her life and mourn with the family and friends she left behind. It's a tragic
loss.
Yet, her death brings to light a very important message about the secrets of happiness, worth, and self-love.
I felt this way about Robin Williams' death, and I didn't say anything. I couldn't remain silent any longer.
You see, far too many of us chase external things to bring us joy. To define us. To give us a sense of worth. To help us love ourselves.
We think, "If I just grow my business
this much more," or, "If I just make this much more money per year, then I'll be happy. Then I'll love myself."
That's simply not true.
Kate Spade, Robin Williams: they had fame, fortune, and success by the boatloads. But it didn't make them happy. It didn't make them love themselves.
You see, all the money, fame, and success in the world mean nothing if you don't love
yourself.
I bet you've invested in your professional development recently: taken a course, gone to a conference, even read an article on the internet.
But when's the last time you invested in yourself? Your personal development? Learning to love yourself more, and finally put the demons of your past to rest so you could shine your radiant light into the world?
I"ll bet you dollars to donuts it's been
a lot longer.
So don't wait.
You are worthy of loving yourself. You are worthy of investing in yourself.
Then, if you're ready to finally give yourself the same love and
acceptance you give others,
schedule a time to chat with me. I'd love to support you in your journey.
