Dreams are funny things.
(Not the in-your-sleep crazy dreams. Well, they're funny things, too. But today I'm talking about your hopes and dreams.)
The good ones never seem to die.
You might give up on them, but they stick around like a burning ember in your soul.
Nudging you. Pulling on you to take action.
The more you ignore them, the worse you feel.
But the more you ACT on them to make them a reality, the more confidence you have.
Facebook reminded me today of a huge milestone in my life.
Eight years ago today, I published my first book and fulfilled my life-long dream of becoming an author.
That day changed my life. It changed the way I saw myself. It changed my identity.
I was then, and always will be, a published author. No one and no thing can ever take that away from me.
And since that day, I've gone on to publish a total of NINE books. And I was a contributing author to a best-selling compilation book. Book TEN - my memoir - will be published this year.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd publish ten books in eight years.
It just goes to show you what's possible when you have the confidence to act on your dreams.
What dreams have you given up on? Felt not good enough to pursue? Given into the doubt and fear and excuses for not fulfilling them?
Those dreams won't die.
You can ignore them, but they won't go away.
Today's Worthy Wednesday live is about the power of fulfilling your dreams - how it changes you and WHY you need to take action to fulfill them.
