When is the last time you tried something new?
How did you feel? Nervous? Scared? Excited? All of the above?
Most likely, some variation of these questions ran through your head:
"What if I fail?" 😟
"What if I succeed?!" 😲
"What if I run into problems I don't know how to solve?" 🤯
"What if a giant water buffalo runs across my path while I'm doing the thing and wrecks it all?" 🤪
Ok, maybe not water buffalo, but I bet you DO have some level of "disaster thinking" over trying new things.
When you're not confident, it can feel overwhelming to even try.
Self-doubt can stop you in your tracks.
Your failures can haunt you and shape the way you see yourself for years to come.
But what if you flip the script, so to speak? What if, instead of focusing on the OUTCOME, you focused on the EXPERIENCE? On the growth potential?
Each year, I pick a theme word. And this year, my word is Growth. That growth can take many forms. It's a process, not a goal.
Focusing on growth as a process - a journey - takes the pressure off the performance.
It allows you to fail without judgment. Without blame. After all, isn't there tremendous growth in the lessons you learn from failure?
The next time you're faced with something new, approach it with a sense of adventure. Do what you can to set yourself up for success. Then embrace the process. Welcome the growth that comes with any outcome. Redefine your definition of success. It's not ALWAYS about meeting your goal. It's also about what you learn and how you change along the way.
If you're tired of being defined by your failures and missing out on opportunities because you don't have the confidence to "go for it" in your business, then my Confidence and Authenticity Private Coaching Program is the best way I can help you achieve the results you want and deserve.
