Hey, Beautiful!
Photoshop. Filters. Selective posting.
There are all kinds of ways to be fake on social media.
Sometimes, it's just for fun.
But other times, it's a strategic way of hiding who you really are.
It's easy to carefully curate content about our lives to ignore the not-so-Instagram worthy moments.
You simply don't post the bad stuff. Only post the wins.
And pretty soon, those digital-world filters carry over into the real world.
We're afraid to show our real selves. Afraid of criticism, rejection, comparisons.
Then WE play the comparison game, and always end up on the losing side.
We compare our everyday life to other people's highlight reels, forgetting that there's a ton of crappy footage on THEIR cutting room floor, just like there is in our own.
Have you ever photoshopped your life to appear more interesting? More successful? More perfect?
You know what that does? It puts Imposter Syndrome in overdrive.
Don't do that to yourself. Be real. Be you. Leave photoshop to the photographers.
